March 20, 2008 - 3:27PM

VICTORVILLE — With candy sales banned on school campuses, sugar pushers are the latest trend at local schools. Backpacks are filled with Snickers and Twinkees for all sweet tooths willing to pay the price.

“It’s created a little underground economy, with businessmen selling everything from a pack of skittles to an energy drink,” said Jim Nason, principal at Hook Junior High School in Victorville.

This has become a lucrative business, Nason said, and those kids are walking around campus with upwards of $40 in their pockets and disrupting class to make a sale.

Schools have been individually banning junk-food sales for years, and enforcement was increased in 2005 when Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger passed legislation to combat childhood obesity, according to the office of the governor.

Since then, schools have slowly adjusted by offering more healthy alternatives, such as baked chips and granola bars.

But Nason said that he sees just as much candy and soda as ever, because students still bring it from home — for lunch, and to turn a profit.

“I think it’s original purpose was pretty good, but it doesn’t seem to be making that big of a difference,” said teacher Rolayne Allen of the junk-food ban.

Teachers are instructed to confiscate candy when kids have it in class, Nason said, and the punishment for making sales can be detention.

But confiscating candy all the time can be challenging, Allen said, especially around the holidays when students bring more of it to school.

Daryl Bell, principal at Apple Valley Middle School, said that he also sees an increase in candy around the holidays, but that for the most part, students steer clear of sodas and buy juice and water from the vending machines.

A few candy sellers are caught each year there, Bell said, but he does not see it as a problem on campus.

Since Hook moved away from junk food years ago, Nason said he has not seen a change in student health.

“I think they get a good nutritional lunch here, but looking at our kids and looking at physical education scores, I don’t see how it’s been a highly effective program,” Nason said.

One way around the problem is the school’s lunch accounts, Nason said. Parents can monitor what their kids are eating by putting money on their lunch cards to buy school meals instead of handing them cash.

But as long as kids can get candy, from the store and at home, they will continue to bring it to school, Nason said.

Chapter "I Lost Count"LoL

The French Connection or Creme Brule Can Be Dangerous To Your Health"

The first tangible evidence in the case emerged in 2004 in Paris ,France.

A very famous and prestigious French Chef had recently opened
a new restaurant to much critical acclaim. This gentleman owned four or five other restraunts that had all earned a ***** 5 star rating in the Michelin Restraunt guide. Taking his previous track records into account Michelin premiered his restraunt with a ***** 5 star rating. This was unprecedented!!!

Business was good for about a month. Everything was going well in the eyes of the owner. The Michelin critics thought differently and drop the rating to 3.5 stars in the next months issue.

On the very day that the rating was dropped a very important influential French gentleman by the name of Jean Claude Phillipe had reservations for dinner.
The French chef being distraught over his ratings drop did not have one of his better culinary efforts.Mssr. Phiilipe thought that considering the prices in this establishment any less than "c'est magnifique" was not acceptable. He asked to speak to the chef. The chef being a temperamental culinary artiste and distraught over his misfortune refused. We ALL know how the French can be !!!
Mr. Phillipe excused himself from his table calmly walked into the kitchen and drowned the chef in a bowl of creme brule and then vanished. Nobody saw or heard a thing. This crime was committed in plain sight and hearing of about 250 restraunts patrons and yet there was not ONE SINGLE CLUE!! No one saw a thing!!

Except the FARTS. The Farts are the French Armed Resistance to Traffickers of Sugar. They are a quasi governmental French agency that operates in the shadows right on the edge of French law. They are very effective. The Sugar Assassins FEAR the FARTS.{What the Hell is the matter with the French. Didn't somebody realize that this was a horrible acronym? Oh well c'est la vie I guess} The FARTS had intelligence that a Sugar Assassin was operating in the Paris area so they were on their guard. As luck would have it there was a FART agent having dinner in that restrant that very night. The whole incident happened so quickly that he was not able to apprehend Mssr. Phillipe or get a picture but he knew the REAL story. He notified the SAPS and ever since they and us have been cooperating on this case ever since

The French news papers reported the whole incident as a distraught chef comitting suicide over having his Michelin Restraunt guide rating dropped.

The real story is that Mr. Phillipe was a Sugar Assassin of the vile , insipid , evil
Havana Sugar Cartel who was sent to Paris to assassinate the chef because the chef refused to use Havana sugar in his restaraunt's recipes. He insisted on using the rival cartel , the Bogota Association of Sugar Traffics Aligned for Ruinous Destruction A.K.A. the BASTARDS, products. Havana was PISSED!!

What we have here ladies and gentlemen is a turf war amongst all the various affiliated groups within the vile , evil nefarious Havana Sugar Cartel.

To date we have not been able to obtain a picture of him but we have been able to discover his true identity which is Ricardo Edrigo Perez. His Sugar Assassin call name is "Sweet Boy"

If you should happen to see this gentleman be aware that he is armed and EXTREMELY dangerous. He probably has 10-12 highly charged Three Musketeers on his person at all times. Give him a wide berth. Avoid him at all costs. Call the SAPS immediately!!

As usual if you have any information regarding this or any other crimes perpetrated by the vile, insipid , evil Havana Sugar Cartel or any of it's affiliated groups or any individual Sugar Assassin notify the SAPS immediately.

as always -- REMAIN VIGILANT!!!

The BASTARDS are everywhere.

"The Great Sugar Assassin Caper Of Sweetwater,Tx."

"The Great Sugar Assassin Caper Of Sweetwater Tx"

Chapter 1:

" Havana Day Dreaming"
or
" The Havana Sugar Cartel Strikes"
In the Spring of 2002 a rather elderly but alert gentleman by the Name of Mr. Barton Park of Sweetwater , Texas began receiving, anonymously, baked goods from bakeries all over the country. Mr.Park being a diabetic and a naturally suspicious man,and ever mindful of the extremely difficult security situation his country was facing as a result of the events of Sept.11.2001 did what all good Americans would do. He called the authorities. In this case that was the Sugar Awareness Police A.K.A., affectionately we hope, the SAPS. The SAPS are Federal Agents under the direct supervision of The Homeland Safety Agency. The case was assigned to me as the Lead Investigator. My name is Major Dee Mentia.

An investigation was launched. Preliminary field intelligence seemed to indicate that vile , despicable , nefarious terrorist group The Havana Sugar Cartel was behind the attempted assassination of Mr.Park. We have no idea why they would want to assassinate an elderly retired gentleman such as Mr.Park. I assure all citizens that we WILL get to the bottom of this.

What we do know of the Havana Sugar Cartel is that they employ assassins, known as Sugar Assassins,to do their dirty work.In a rather cruel and ironic twist the Sugar Assassins ALWAYS use sugar in one form or another to kill their victims. Since we now know that there is a Sugar Assassin operating in the Sweetwater Tx. area we urge all citizens of Texas to be EXTREMELY vigilant!!If you should go out to dinner in the immediate future you might want to think carefully about ordering that apple pie or carrot cake.

We ask for the cooperation of the public at large in the on going investigation. If you have ANY information that may pertain to this investigation please feel free to call us at our toll free hot line 1-800-The-SAPS or leave your tips in this forum as comments. Do not worry FUBAR is a secure site. they have TOP SECRET or T.S.15 clearance.

In the coming weeks and months I will bring you up to date on past developments as well as current ones. In the meantime be------

HIGHLY VIGILANT!!!

               " The Pascogoula Run "

              By Jimmy Buffett
Billy pulled in in a Jaguar
Red convertible sixty-five
Headed home to Mississippi, he'd been
around the world
He was that black sheep uncle of mine

His ship had come in, he was lookin' to sin
He was singing his own song
When he yelled from the drive, my heart came alive
"Jimmy boy come along"

It's time to see the world
It's time to kiss a girl
It's time to cross the wild meridian
Grab your bag and take a chance
Time to learn a cajun dance
Kid your gonna see the mornin' sun
On the Pascagoula run

Friday night at the Stateline Bar
Where the waterfront peole dwell
Better watch my step if the floor caves in
I'll go right straight to hell
There were pinball machines and Cajun queens
Men with knives and scars
Billy moved 'cross the floor through
the real hard core
And said "Here's where it gets bizarre"

Repeat Chorus

What do the ladies say what do the ladies say
What do the ladies say, what do the ladies say
What do the ladies say what do the ladies say
What do the ladies say what do the ladies say
What do the ladies say what do the ladies say

Bring that young man over here
We gonna buy that boy a beer
And that ain't all we want to do
And bring your crazy uncle too

" Gypsies In The Palace "

                       By Jimmy Buffett

So long Boss, knock 'em dead, don't worry 'bout a thing
Wish that we could come along, we'd love to hear you sing
The limo's here, your bags are packed, the list is by the phone,
Me and Snake will watch your place and treat it like our own

Look at all this liquor
Look at all this food
It's only gonna go to waste
We're not really being rude
But the good stuff's in his closet, I swear he wouldn't mind
Hell, we''ll just shoot the lock off, I do it all the time

We're gypsies in the palace, he's left us here alone
The order of the sleepless knights will now assume the throne
We ain't got no money, we ain't fot no fight
But we're gypsies in the palace, we got it all tonight

There's damsels in distress out there and we got all this beer
We'll free them from their condos and bring them over here
We'll show them his gold records
We'll play his music loud
We'll party just like Bubba does
We'll do the old man proud

We're gypsies in the palace, there ain't no wrong or right
We're gypsies in the palace, and we're going wild tonight.

He's the greatest guy to work for, man, he's really cool
Hey Snake, this party's getting dull, throw someone in the pool
Hey, let's all take our clothes off and form a conga line
Watch out for that broken glass, hey Snake, we need more wine

We're gypsies in the palace, there ain't no wrong or right
We're gypsies in the palace and we're raising hell tonight

Oh, hi there Boss, what's going on?
You say you're coming when?
I'll send Snake to pick you tomorrow night at ten, okay

Everybody out of here, this joint is closing down
We've got to find someone to clean this up,
He's coming back to town

Hi there boss, we waxed your car, we raked and mowed
your lawn
We couldn't find enough to do in the short time you
were gone

Man it sure is peaceful here, you really got it all
If you ever hit the road again, give me and Snake
a call

We're gypsies in the palace, he's left us here alone
The order of the Sleepless Knights will now assume
the throne
We ain't got no money, we ain't got no right
But we're gypsies in the palace, we got it all tonight

" Off To See The Lizard  "

                         By Jimmy Buffett

I was raised by a maid who came from
Martinique
She wore geckos round her neck and bracelets on her feet
A superstitious woman from the land of sugar cane
She'd sing the sun to bed and dance out in the rain
Dance out dance out dance out dance out in the rain

She'd excite us with his legend that the
Africans had told
About a red iguana who turned lava into gold
We'd mount an expedition headin' out into the bay
Superstitious children playing pirate for a day

CHORUS

Off to see the lizard
Off to see the lizard
Deja deja deja vu, believe it
And it will come true
Veja Veja Veja du
What works for me might work for you

Bein' rich and famous seems to have its ups and downs
That's the price you pay for being troubadours
and clowns
Godzilla's halitosis it be vaporizing cars
Elvis up in Michigan or maybe out on Mars
Dance out dance out dance out to the stars

But livin' in the briar patch ain't what it appears
Sooner or later you gotta face your fears
I heard it from the parrot verbalizing in the tree
I heard it in the song lines of the aborigine

Off the see the lizard
Off the see the lizard
Deja deja deja vu, believe it
And it will come true
Veja veja veja du
What works for me might work for you

Does it work for me?
Yeah yeah
Will it work for you?
Yeah yeah
If you believe it will
Yeah yeah
It will come true

I got problems with my brain underneath my curls
Problems wif Loraine and all the other girls
Love a wealthy woman and the pretty plane she flies
If you think this songs confusing you should see it through my eyes
Dancin, dancin, dancin through my eyes

I'm turning off the waterfall the tourists can go home
Feel it time to travel time to write a poem
Time to seek some therapy I'm goin' walkabout
Answers are the easy part questions raise the doubt

Off the see the lizard
Off to see the lizard
Deja deja deja vu, believe it
And it will come true
Veja veja veja du
What works for me might work for you

Deja deja deja vu, believe it
And it will come true
Veja veja veja du
What works for me might work for you

                                 " Fruitcakes"

                            By Jimmy Buffett

You know I was talking to my friend desdemona the other day she
Runs this space station and bake shop down near boomtown. she told
Me that human beings are flawed individuals. the cosmic bakers
Took us out of the oven a little too early. and that's the
Reason were as crazy as we are and I believe it.

Take for example when you go to the movies these days, you know.
They try to sell you this jumbo drink, 8 extra ounces of watered
Down cherry coke for an extra 25 cents. I don't want it.
I don't want that much organziation in my life.
I don't want other people thinking for me.
I want my junior mints. where did the junior mints go in the
Movies. I don't want a 12 lb. nestles crunch for 25 dollars. i
Want junior mints.

We need more fruitcakes in this world and less bakers!
We need people that care! Im mad as hell! and I don't want to
Take it anymore!

Chorus:
Fruitcakes in the kitchen (fruitcakes in the kitchen)
Fruitcakes on the street (fruitcakes on the street)
Struttin naked through the crosswalk
In the middle of the week
Half-baked cookies in the oven (cookies in the oven)
Half-baked people on the bus (people on the bus)
There's a little bit of fruitcake left in everyone of us

Paradise, lost and found
Paradise, take a look around
I was out in california where I hear they have it all
They got riots, fires, mud slides
They've got sushi in the mall
Water bars, brontasaurs, chinese modern lust
Shake and bake life with the quake
The secrets in the crust

--spoken:
Speakin of fruitcakes, how bout the government?
Your tax dollars at work.

We lost our martian rocket ship
The high paid spokesman said
Looks like that silly rocket ship
Has lost it's cone shaped head
We spent 90 jillion dollars trying to get a look at mars
I hear universal laughter ringing out among the stars

Chorus:
Fruitcakes in the galaxy (fruitcakes in the galaxy)
Fuitcakes on the earth (fruitcakes on the earth)
Struttin naked towards eternity
Weve been that way since birth
Half-baked cookies in the oven (cookies in the oven)

Night and sunday morning. here we go now.
Alright, alter boys.

Mea culpa mea culpa mea maxima culpa
Mea culpa mea culpa mea maxima culpa

Wheres the church, who took the steeple
Religion is in the hands of some crazy-ass people
Television preachers with bad hair and dimples
The gods honest truth is it's not that simple
Its the buddhist in you, it's the pagan in me
Its the muslim in him, she's catholic aint she?

All want em. what do we do with em?
Here we go, I'll tell ya.

She said you gotta do your fair share
Now cough up half the rent
I treat my body like a temple
You treat yours like a tent
But the right word at the right time
May get me a little hug
That's the difference between lightning
And a harmless lightnin bug

So I'll put on my bob marley tape
And practice what I preach
Get jah lost in the reggae mon
As I walk along the beach
Stay in touch with my insanity really is the only way
Its a jungle out there kiddies
Have a very fruitful day

                    "Cheeseburger In Paradise"

                          By Jimmy Buffett

Tried to amend my carnivorous habits
Made it nearly seventy days
Losin' weight without speed, eatin' sunflower seeds
Drinkin' lots of carrot juice and soakin' up rays

But at night i'd had these wonderful dreams
Some kind of sensuous treat
Not zuchinni, fettucini or bulghar wheat
But a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat

Chorus:
Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Heaven on earth with an onion slice (paradise)
Not too particular not too precise (paradise)
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise

Heard about the old time sailor men
They eat the same thing again and again
Warm beer and bread they said could raise the dead
Well it reminds me of the menu at a holiday inn

Times have changed for sailors these days
When i'm in port i get what i need
Not just havanas or bananas or daiquiris
But that american creation on which i feed

Chorus:
Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Medium rare with mustard 'be nice (paradise)
Heaven on earth with an onion slice (paradise)
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise

I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer
Well good god almighty which way do i steer for my

Chorus:
Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Makin' the best of every virtue and vice (paradise)
Worth every damn bit of sacrifice (paradise)
To get a cheeseburger in paradise
To be a cheeseburger in paradise
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise

Coda:
I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer
Well good god almighty which way do i steer for my
Cheeseburger in paradise

                        " A Frenchman For The Night "

                        By Jimmy Buffett

                                                                                                      From his driftwood castle
Comes a song I've heard before
A scratchy gramophone cuts to the bone
"La Vie En Rose" arpeggios
So the dream begins
And the song is amplified
Buy the Beaujolais, on Bastille day
He dances in the tide

By the light of the moon
He's a Frenchman for the night
By the light of the moon
It'll be all right

Well it takes him back
To the days of love and war
And the girl he knew with eyes of blue
Waiting on the shore
If he'd only known
How the years would fly on by
Such a simple crime, he's run out of time
So he reaches for the sky

By the light of the moon
He's a Frenchman for the night
By the light of the moon
It'll be all right

Blame it on the Champs Elysees
Blame it on a tune
Blame it on the stroke of Monet
But you can't escape the moon

He sees the stars above
As the floor to heavens light
While the angels taunt "C'est une nuit blanche"
He's a Frenchman for the night

By the light of the moon
He's a Frenchman for the night
By the light of the moon
It'll be all right

From a driftwood castle
Comes a song I've heard before
A scrat chy gramophone cuts to the bone
"La Vie En Rose"
arpeggios

                    "The Bank Of Bad Habits"

                   by Jimmy Buffett

The rumors and the stories of my past I can't deny
I'm no Saint Ignatius but again I'm no barfly
The wrong thing is the right thing until you lose control
I've got this bank of bad habits in a corner of my soul

Bank of bad habits
The price of vice foretold
One by one they'll do you in
They're bound to take their toll
The wrong thing is the right thing until you lose control
I've got this bank of bad habits in a corner of my soul

Last night I said goodbye to a dear old friend of mine
Just a throw back shell beach party, nothin' really asinine
Rum and cooked animals and bullshit by the ton
That party lasted way too long and I had too much fun

Bank of bad habits
The price of vice foretold
One by one they'll do you in
They're bound to take their toll
The wrong thing is the right thing until you lose control
I've got this bank of bad habits in a corner of my soul
That bank of bad habits is worth its weight in gold

Time for you to spend that dough
You're the only one you owe
So put away those alibis
You can't fool that Banker in the sky

[Spoken:]
Now let me tell you about the 7 Deadly Sins:
1. Pride...Thou shalt not have pride in thy neighbor.
2. Coveting...Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife.
3. Lust...Thou shalt not lust after his neighbor's wife.
4. Anger...Do not be angry with your neighbor's wife.
5. Gluttony...Do not eat thy neighbor's wife's ........popcorn.
6. Envy...Do not envy your neighbor's wife.
7. Sloth...Do not be a slob.
And the eighth deadly sin is............PIZZA!

A picture's worth a thousand words just ask a cameraman
And it's no sin to stop and look, I do it when I can
But you have to purge that urge to merge
You have to keep your head
Or trouble is what you will find inside some stranger's bed

Bank of bad habits
The price of vice foretold
One by one they'll do you in
They're bound to take their toll
The wrong thing is the right thing until you lose control
I've got this bank of bad habits
It's worth it's weight in gold

As we sat on the front porch
Of that old grey house where I was born and raised
Starin' at the dusty fields
Where my daddy worked hard every day
I think it kinda hurt him when I said Daddy
There's a lot that I don't know
But don't you ever dream about a life
Where corn don't grow

He just sat there silent
Staring at his favorite coffee cup
I saw a storm of mixed emotion in his eyes
When he looked up
He said Son I know at your age
Seems like this ol' world is turning slow
And you think you'll find the answer to it all
Where corn don't grow

Hard times are real
There's dusty fields
No matter where you go
You may change your mind
'Cause the weeds are high
Where corn don't grow

I remember feeling guilty
When Daddy turned and walked back in the house
I was only seventeen back then
But I thought that I knew more than I know now
I can't say he didn't warn me
This city life's a hard row to hoe
Ain't it funny how a dream can turn around
Where corn don't grow

Hard times are real
There's dusty fields
No matter where you go
And you may change your mind
'Cause the weeds are high
Where corn don't grow

You may change your mind
Oh the weeds are high
Where corn don't grow
